We are students and practitioners of the emerging art and science of systems and resilience

We are students and practitioners of the emerging art and science of systems and resilience.  We are mostly based in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland. We have gathered  to provide insights and perspectives into viable alternatives for Aotearoa to the 21st century global industrial society and its culture.

Understanding the situation as it actually is offers our best chance of taking effective action.

We believe many people share our desire for a deeper truth about our situation. We wish to help alert and prepare them.

We do not present a grand unifying theory or prescribed set of ‘solutions’. We are not calling for a dramatic all encompassing intervention. This is not about ideals or ideology. It's about experiments into a way of life that is congruent with reality. It’s about working together to explore the future we are most likely to experience and investigating what this means for life in our bioregion.

We will:

  • respond creatively to the challenges we face, in words and actions.
  • explore cultural narratives with the potential to reorder our thinking and behaviour to meet this oncoming reality.
  • differentiate between what is possible, what is probable, what is inevitable and what is very unlikely to happen.
  • demonstrate the agency and efficacy of our people and our communities.
  • build our own community of practice, interest and action.
